BPS-Statistics Sawahlunto Municipality Identifies Sectoral Activities and Conducts Sectoral Statistics Coaching for Domain 1: Principles of One Data Indonesia

June 25, 2026 | Other Activities

SAWAHLUNTO – BPS-Statistics Sawahlunto Municipality hosted an event titled "Identification of Sectoral Statistical Activities and Sectoral Statistics Coaching for Domain 1: Principles of One Data Indonesia." The event took place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the BPS-Statistics Sawahlunto Municipality Conference Room, attending representatives from various Regional Government Agencies (OPD) within the Sawahlunto Municipal Government.

The event was officially opened by the Head of BPS-Statistics Sawahlunto Municipality, Arieswaty, SST. In her remarks, Arieswaty emphasized that the availability of sectoral statistics produced by OPDs serves as a crucial foundation for regional policy-making and the realization of One Data Indonesia (SDI).

"Through this initiative, we aim to build a shared understanding between BPS as the data supervisor and OPDs as data producers, particularly in enhancing metadata reporting and submitting statistical recommendations (Romantik). Strong synergy is required among the data supervisor, the data custodian (the Communication and Information Office), and data producers (OPDs)," stated Arieswaty.

Monitoring and Evaluation of Metadata and Statistical Recommendations

During the monitoring and evaluation session, Citra Eng Gusti, Head of the Public Information and Communication Division at the Communication and Information Office (Dinas Kominfo) of Sawahlunto Municipality, underscored the need for a joint commitment from all OPDs to optimize sectoral statistics in Sawahlunto Municipality. Current evaluations indicate that several OPDs have not yet submitted activity metadata or requested statistical recommendations (Romantik). Moving forward, the sectoral statistics coaching process will be guided by BPS and supported by the Communication and Information Office as the data custodian.

Identification of Sectoral Statistical Activities across Agencies

The first session on the Identification of Sectoral Statistical Activities was delivered by Rachmat Dhany Ichsan, S.Tr.Stat. In his presentation, he explained that an activity is categorized as a statistical activity if it encompasses all stages—ranging from planning, data collection (via censuses, surveys, administrative data compilation, or other methods), processing, to dissemination, and ultimately generating indicators.

During this session, an immediate identification of the various statistical activities within each OPD was conducted. This initial mapping step aims to ensure that subsequent coaching can focus specifically on one priority statistical activity managed by each agency.

Coaching on Domain 1: Principles of One Data Indonesia

The second session was presented by Mora Jajus Rasbi, SE, M.Si, focusing on Sectoral Statistics Coaching for Domain 1: Principles of One Data Indonesia. This session was designed to prepare OPDs for the sectoral statistics evaluation that yields the Statistical Development Index (IPS) score. The IPS score is a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for the Mayor this year, with Domain 1 carrying the highest evaluation weight.

Mora outlined the four core principles of One Data Indonesia that must be satisfied:

  1. Data Standards: Encompassing concepts, definitions, classifications, metrics, and units standardized nationally (accessible via the INDAH portal).
  2. Metadata: Structured information regarding data, which includes activity metadata, variable metadata, and indicator metadata.
  3. Interoperability: The ability of data to be shared and reused across systems via the official data portal managed by the data custodian.
  4. Reference Codes and Master Data: Produced data must refer to standard reference codes to allow for national comparison across regions.

Interactive Discussion

The event concluded with an interactive discussion addressing technical challenges on the ground, such as synchronizing the tasks of data operators in OPDs during staff rotations, as well as fulfilling activity metadata formats. BPS-Statistics Sawahlunto Municipality, together with the Communication and Information Office, committed to providing intensive guidance to ensure the optimal implementation of sectoral statistics across Sawahlunto Municipality.
